The 2nd annual EastEuro Link forum on Latest Trends and Growing Needs in the Telecom Market took place this month. The event brought together Ministers, Investors, Market – Shapers and Corporate decision makers from the Eastern and Southern Eastern European states.

The event was located in Serbia and Montenegro to represent the cross roads of the region.
This two day event was a mix of discussions and talks on the subject of the extent to which a country’s economic and legal framework shapes the interest of the investor.
It was a noted opportunity for Telecommunications companies and investors to meet and discuss opportunities in the market.

The forum focused on the market changes with emphasis on the economic, legislative and institutional aspects. The speed with which these changes are taking place within all countries in the region were highlighted.

H.E. Dragana Curcic, the Deputy Minister of the Serbian Ministry for Capital Investments gave a welcome address to open the event. In her address she talked about the way in which the Telecommunication sector of Serbia is preparing for EU accession, all from the perspective of Serbia being given a positive mark on a feasibility study.
She talked about the investment in the Telecom sector planned for next few years. She also discussed how forming of the Telecommunication Regulatory Agency of Serbia will bring order in the market and how that will, directly, produce security for the Investors, and there fore attract many more.
